Sharpe's Honour Roll
Comments:
Whilst not an avid watcher of Sharpe's heroics and the like(Unlike the wife)how did one tell Sharpes rank throughout his escapades as his jacket seem to be full of buttons etc so difficult to work out.
Also what was the highest rank that Harper got up to? Sgt Major (with 4 stripes?)
Admin reply: The key to rank was how much braiding was on an officer's jacket sleeves and in the epaulets. Especially in the epaulets. However, in Sharpe's case he was never able to afford having new uniforms made or purchasing of new epaulets with every step up. However, with the Officer's Mess system his promotions would have been talked about greatly, thereby spreading the word about the notorious 'Johnny Jump-up'. Promotions were also published in newspapers back in England and for the well-liked officers, they would be celebrated by the rank and file, ensuring word got spread about.
Harper retired from active duty at the rank of Regimental Sergeant Major.

One of the best shows I've ever watched. I srsly could not tear myself away from it. Sean Bean is the sexiest man out there, and I wish there was more of the "Sharpe" series. Mostly, I loved the interaction between him and Daragh O'Mally. I can't decide who I love the most. They are both stellar.
